Beyond Taboos Exhibition

The exhibition tells how, in the past, the cinematic portrayal of a strong man who embraced a more feminine style was shocking. Today, this no longer holds the same impact, underscoring the considerable shifts and developments in our culture. We hypothesize that presenting a female protagonist with the distinctive style of Querelle would now be a stimulating choice, because we believe that women, despite progress, still contend with social evaluations.
